Office worker Lin Xiaoman stayed up late to beat a romance game, only to wake up as a cannon fodder player in the "Romance the Cold-Faced NPC" mission. She thought following the system's hints—giving milk tea, acting vulnerable—would win favor, but the target NPC Gu Yanzhi flipped the script: he refused the milk tea and gave her hot cocoa instead, leaned in (not cold at all) and asked, "Want to work overtime with me today?" Even more bizarre, Gu Yanzhi seems aware of the "system" and secretly modifies the plot, twisting her "cannon fodder script" into a "mutual crush." When Lin Xiaoman discovers this "crazy NPC" is actually a real soul trapped by the system, she must choose between "clearing the game to go home" and "saving her lover..."
