Su Xiaoman, an intern from the Underworld, is exiled to the mortal world for accidentally releasing an evil ghost, forced to bind to a system that requires her to "catch enough ghosts to return." She plans to keep a low profile to complete her quota, but runs into Gu Zhaoheng, a cold and noble immortal—who is the previous life of the evil ghost she set free! On one hand, she deals with hilarious daily ghost-catching tasks (a gluttonous ghost stealing Meng Po's soup, a drama-queen ghost possessing a storyteller). On the other hand, Gu Zhaoheng "monitors" her with a frosty face but secretly shields her from fierce ghosts and brings her osmanthus cakes. Just as Su Xiaoman gets used to the "ghost-catching + teasing the immortal" routine, she discovers the system's secret—the "ultimate evil ghost" she needs to catch is the unresolved grievance in Gu Zhaoheng's past life? Amidst the laughter hides a two-life sweetness, but when she's close to meeting the quota, she realizes the one she truly needs to "catch" is her own heart that's already fallen for him.
