Lin Wan, a single mother, has exhausted all her savings to treat her son's leukemia. When desperate, she unexpectedly binds to the "Xuanmen Ancestor System"—only by completing Xuanmen tasks to earn "merit points" can she exchange for her son's life-extending medicine. But she can't even draw a straight talisman; her first ghost exorcism scared herself into the hospital, and the system ridicules her, "You've lost all the face of an ancestor." To earn merit, she's forced to take on bizarre tasks: finding a lost dried fish for a cat demon, undoing a wrong red thread for Yue Lao… the process is full of laughs. However, as tasks escalate, she discovers her son's illness is linked to a century-old Xuanmen secret, and the cold Taoist priest who always appears when she's in danger seems to hold the key to her past life…
