Su Xiaotang, a relic restorer, rushes to Chenxi Town to save a century-old stele, only to meet Gu Jinchuan, an engineer planning to build wind turbines on the stele's site—one fights to "keep the roots of the past", the other to "build the wind of the future". From clashing to forced collaboration on restoring the stele, they discover the "hyacinth promise" in the inscription holds their childhood secret: the boy who gave her hyacinths ten years ago was Gu Jinchuan, who left for rural teaching back then. On the rainy night when the stele is to be moved, Gu Jinchuan dashes into the rain with the stele rubbing, shouting: "I came back to find the girl waiting for the wind." The wind lifts his clothes, and the hyacinth pattern on the stele glows in the dawn—just like the one they planted together years ago.
