Lin Xiaofu is a "walking bad luck magnet": she fails her job interview and gets scammed out of all her rent money. Desperate, she knocks on the door of an old villa in the alley—Gu Yang, a retired pastry chef, glares at her like a debt collector but softens when he sees the stray cat in her arms.
