In the 1970s, Gu Shan, an adopted son of the Gu family, is forced to the countryside due to rumors that he "curses his father". However, he discovers a talent for "mountain foraging"—identifying rare mountain treasures and connecting with wildlife. On his first day, he saves Lin Wan, an educated youth bitten by a snake; they start as bickering foes but grow closer. Gu Shan uses his skills to solve a locust plague for the production team and earns his first money, only to be reported by his jealous cousin for "speculation". Lin Wan, with her accounting expertise, clears his name. Gu Shan then leads his adoptive family to run a mountain product cooperative, transforming from a poor adopted son to the "Mountain King". He打脸 the rumors, turns the village into a prosperity model with Lin Wan, and achieves both sweet love and a legendary turnaround.
