In 2023, Su Xiaotang, fresh from a breakup, returns to her hometown Guan Cheng. While cleaning the old attic, she stumbles upon a 1998 cassette tape—inside is a boy's voice: "Xiaotang, I'm waiting for you at Fuxing Sugar Water Shop, day 100." Following the clue, she finds the old shop and meets 50-year-old Chen Mo—who still keeps the 1998 menu, ungiven glass sugar wrappers, and says he's waited a lifetime for a girl named "Xiaotang". Suddenly, Xiaotang realizes her mother's maiden name was Lin Xiaotang, and the old photo in Chen Mo's hand is exactly her mother at 18.
