In the cold winter, a young scavenger finds an abandoned baby and takes him in. Though poverty-stricken, he even sells his blood for the baby's medicine, only to be driven out by snobbish relatives. They take shelter in a junkyard, scraping by collecting scraps. Decades later, he rises from rags to riches and becomes a billionaire. His once-arrogant relatives come to cling to him, but he reserves kindness for his adopted son only, exposing the hypocrisy of human relationships with his success—a satisfying rags-to-riches story.
