Princess Zhao Wan of the Great Jing Dynasty is sent for a political marriage to the Northern Lin Kingdom. She braced herself for hunger and hardship on the remote frontier, only to be greeted by a lavish feast in the prince’s mansion. Yet she soon notices oddities in Prince Che’s meals, and her hidden dry rations keep going missing. One late night, she stumbles upon Prince Che sighing in front of an empty food box, learning that this battle-hardened warlord is actually a "starving general" who’s never had enough to eat. Their food-fueled tug-of-war gradually exposes a grain conspiracy and sparks their hidden romance.
