In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, scientist Cheng Ye discovers humanity's last hope - a mysterious fire seed that can purify radiation. When the powerful 'Purification Sect' will stop at nothing to seize it, Cheng forms an unlikely alliance with rogue warrior Ai Xing. As they escort the fire seed to the 'Land of Rebirth', they must evade pursuers while confronting their opposing beliefs: Cheng wants to save humanity, while Ai believes the polluted world deserves total destruction. But when the fire seed begins consuming its bearers' lives, who should decide the fate of this double-edged salvation - the scientist who found it, the warrior who distrusts it, or the ember itself that seems to have a will of its own?
