Jiang Qi catches her boyfriend Ji Mingyu cheating with her best friend Li Yun, breaks up decisively but sinks into a slump. Just then, Jing Xi, a junior who’s silently guarded her, appears and suggests a “fake relationship” to handle her family’s marriage pressure and her ex’s pestering. From tentative interactions to mutual dependence, Jing Xi’s gentle gestures—bringing hot congee on rainy nights, remembering her allergies, leaving a lamp on for her overtime—slowly melt Jiang Qi’s defenses. When she thinks it’s all “acting,” on graduation day, Jing Xi stands on campus with roses, pulls out a ring, and says: “I’m not playing a boyfriend—I really want to spend my whole life with you.”
