Heartbroken urban career woman Lin Xi returns to her fog-shrouded mountain village, only to be haunted by ethereal deer calls echoing at midnight. Her pursuit leads to Li Ye, a tormented mountain guardian who reveals the cries stem from a century-old divine curse. When Lin Xi accidentally breaks the vine seal on his wrist, centuries of passion erupt: she is the reincarnation of the mountain god’s lost lover. Torn between her urban ex-lover and primal bond with the god, the haunting deer songs become a countdown.
