Retired criminal police officer Zhou Xiufen notices her "daughter-in-law" Lin Xiaoyu has suddenly changed—she used to hate cilantro but now eats cilantro pancakes for breakfast; she even forgets where their "emergency money" is hidden. Zhou senses something's wrong, takes out the engagement necklace (with a tracker) that her late son gave Xiaoyu, and leaves it on the bedside. That night, "Xiaoyu" takes the necklace and leaves. Zhou follows her to an abandoned warehouse, only to catch the fake daughter-in-law trading with kidnappers—the real Xiaoyu is tied up, and they're trying to steal the 500,000 yuan insurance money left by her son! It turns out the fake Xiaoyu is an accomplice. Zhou has already called the police. When the scam is exposed, the fake Xiaoyu attacks, but Zhou takes her down with a shoulder throw. In the end, the real Xiaoyu is rescued, the fake one is arrested, and Zhou hugs Xiaoyu, crying: "Mom will always protect you."
