Lin Xiaoman has a natural plum-blossom-shaped red mark on her neck and often dreams of being A Zhao, a discarded ancient princess who fell in love with a guard named A Yan but was torn apart. During an encounter at an antique shop, she meets Gu Shiyan, who holds a jade plum-blossom hairpin—he calls her "A Zhao" at first sight, and the hairpin is exactly the token of their love in her dreams. Gu admits he's searched for her for a hundred years, but Xiaoman, traumatized by her biological mother's abandonment in childhood, dares not trust this "past-life fate." Just as she hesitates to open up, a woman claiming to be Gu's "fiancée" appears, holding a faded "grudge book," declaring their love is a "plum curse" from the princess's mansion—if they continue, Xiaoman will repeat her past-life's early death...
