Su Wan, a reclusive healer, accidentally saves Gu Yan, a masked man with severe injuries, only to expose her identity as the "last Nine Yin Body"—a legend says gathering nine such bodies can awaken the Demon Pill sealed for a century. Gu Yan is a "Pill Guardian" tasked with collecting these bodies; he was supposed to offer Su Wan to the pill. But when he sees Su Wan risking her life to save plague-stricken villagers and even willing to sacrifice herself, his resolve crumbles. Meanwhile, a mysterious force emerges, wanting to use the Demon Pill to slaughter the world. Gu Yan must choose between "obeying fate to save the world" and "defying destiny to protect his love": Should he let the Demon Pill return and sacrifice Su Wan for peace, or stand with her to break the curse of "Nine Yin as Sacrifice"?
