In the barren loess hills, widowed Aunt Li finds an abandoned baby named Jinbao who radiates celestial fortune. The infant stumbles upon century-old ginseng roots, summons rare morels to sheep pens, transforming their destitute farm into a goldmine. As villagers worship Jinbao as a living wish-granting tree, a wealthy landlord plots to kidnap the child. When Jinbao is enshrined on an altar engulfed in incense smoke, Aunt Li storms in with her hoe – only to see golden light flicker in the toddler's eyes. "Mother," Jinbao whispers, "They say... a koi's luck can run out."
