On the night Lin Xiaoman, a 996 office worker, gets laid off, she mistakenly takes a "Midnight Last Bus" that never stops at familiar stations. The driver is a mysterious old man in a Zhongshan suit, and the passengers are all "night wanderers" with unfulfilled wishes: an IT guy who wants code bugs to disappear on their own, an influencer who wants to gain followers with stray cats but fears them, and Gu Chuan, a cold designer searching for his missing sister. Even more absurdly, she's bound to a "Wish Fulfillment System"—she must help 10 passengers achieve their wishes to unlock a life reversal. When helping the IT guy fix bugs, she writes "compliment code" instead of repair code, which unexpectedly makes the project go viral. When helping the influencer shoot a video, she falls into a cat nest, and the clip becomes a "funny moment of the year". During this process, she and Gu Chuan go from bickering to teaming up, only to find that the clue to Gu Chuan's sister is hidden in the driver's old photo. When the 10th wish is fulfilled, Lin Xiaoman realizes: this bus was never a shortcut to reversal, but a chance to pick up the passion crushed by life—and Gu Chuan, who laughed with her by the cat nest, has long become her warmest "wish".
