Lin Wei, a top modern home appliance repair technician, unexpectedly travels back to the 1980s and becomes a down-and-out village girl with the same name—abandoned by her birth mother, bullied by neighbors, and in dire straits. With her old multimeter and superb skills, Lin Wei decides to rewrite her fate: she improves old radios and assembles simple small home appliances using modern technology, helping the production brigade solve electrical faults and attracting entrepreneurial opportunities, but also touches the interests of a local bully and the nephew of the village Party secretary. While rushing to repair imported appliances for the commune, she meets the calm and capable educated youth Gu Shiyan. They go from misunderstanding to teamwork, fight against difficulties, and finally open the first home appliance repair shop in the town, becoming a famous skilled home appliance artisan in the 1980s, carving out her own path.
