Su Xiaotang, an ancient architecture restorer, locks horns with returning architect Gu Jingchuan over the Bluestone Lane left by her grandmother—one fights to preserve the lane’s nostalgic warmth, the other pushes for a standardized commercial landmark. From bickering to jointly uncovering the lane’s history, they stumble upon a childhood bond: ten years ago, little Gu protected lost little Su from a rainstorm. But when capital’s bulldozers approach, Gu suddenly sides with “demolition,” shattering Su.
