Li Xiang (played by Dai Qixuan), a young opera actress, saves warlord marshal Fu Jingchuan (played by Fu Hanyuan) from an assassination in Pear Blossom Alley. They fall in love over pear blossom cakes, but fate has a deadly twist—Li Xiang is the orphan of a merchant family massacred by Fu's clan, and Fu Jingchuan is the one ordered to shut down her opera troupe. When Li Xiang finds the massacre token in Fu Jingchuan's arms, and Fu Jingchuan uncovers the anti-warlord letter hidden in the troupe, their love dances on the blade between hatred and stance: revenge for the family, or letting go of obsession for the lover? Every falling pear blossom holds the unspoken words: "I can't bear to hurt you."
