Su Wan, a psychologist born with the ability to hear others' inner voices, was deemed a "monster" since childhood and uses alienation to protect herself. Until Gu Jinchuan, a returned neurosurgeon, appears—he is the only person whose inner voice she can't hear. Gu lost his girlfriend to a surgical mistake three years ago and isolates himself with coldness, but he's curious about Su's "specialty" and takes the initiative to enter her life. When Su takes on a patient with post-surgical trauma, she finds Gu is the chief surgeon on the case, and the patient's inner voice hides another truth about the past mistake. Entangled in the tug-of-war between "hearing" and "not hearing," they peel off their disguises and heal each other's past wounds.
