Lin Xiaonan, a driver sticking to a village-only bus with only one-yuan fare, is submitting her resignation as the company demands fare hikes due to operating cost pressures. On the departure day, a mysterious male passenger carrying an old cloth bag gets on, heading to a remote village where buses no longer run; there are also a little girl looking for her grandma and a frustrated young man with a suicide note. Lin stops out of kindness, and later finds the bag contains R&D materials to connect the village to the internet— the mysterious man is actually an internet entrepreneur. She ultimately refuses to resign, making this one-yuan bus a warm bond connecting the village to the outside world.
