The thousand-year-old koi Ali transforms into an 8-year-old girl to repay her past-life benefactor Gu Shaocheng, who is framed for treason while investigating corruption in a warlord's mansion during the Republic of China. Using her "good fortune spiritual power," Ali defuses crises: blocking poisoned wine at a banquet, using a cat to retrieve stolen ledgers, and even summoning a rainstorm to halt Gu's execution.
