Ten-year-old Lin Xiaoman moves to a remote town with her divorced mom. She often loses sleep in the silent darkness, leaning against the window to gaze into distance. One day, she spots a quiet uncle secretly arriving at her doorstep at dusk, leaving hot food and snacks before vanishing. Curious and scared, she follows him and finds his house filled with her old photos. The uncle is her father, imprisoned years ago for negligent injury. Paroled now, he dares not face his wife and daughter, so he watches over them silently. Xiaoman becomes his tiny light of atonement and redemption.
