Lin Mo, a heavily indebted office worker, stumbles upon the eerie offer of Highway 444: walk forward one km to earn 10,000 yuan, take one step back to lose 100,000 yuan. To pay his huge debt, he steps onto the road. At first, he earns money smoothly, but a flustered backward step triggers a deadly rule—this highway is actually a hunting ground woven by rules. Not only money, unseen dangers lurk for rule-breakers. Only by strictly abiding by the bottom line of “never step back, count every step” can he survive on this eerie highway.
