Su Xiaotang is an overachiever in medical school who "shines with effort but always falls just short" — her paper written after three all-nighters gets rejected, the competition she fought for half a semester only wins second prize, and she even misses the last sweet and sour ribs in the cafeteria. Until transfer student Lu Xingyao arrives: he always wins a free refill when buying milk tea, always gets hidden figures in blind boxes, and even finds a brand-new pen with his name on it when he forgets his own for exams. When she holds the first prize certificate and asks, "Did you have your eye on me long ago?", Lu Xingyao hands her a cup of hot milk tea with a smile: "Otherwise, why would I always show up just when you need 'luck'?"
