Three young people who formed an "iron triangle" in prison after a rescue—Lin Shen, a wrongfully convicted programmer; Zhou Xiaotang, a snack vendor who took the blame for her mother; and Chen Mo, a former salesman who hurt someone impulsively—pool their money to open a community convenience store after release, driven by the desire to "reclaim their lost lives." But they immediately face neighborhood disdain, suppliers raising prices arbitrarily, and Lin Shen’s ex-girlfriend accidentally uncovering the truth about his wrongful conviction. While grappling with their past wounds, they survive with the "simplest" methods: fixing appliances for elderly residents in exchange for rent, using livestreams to promote community aunts’ handmade soap, and even turning the store into a "temporary charging station" for late-night commuters. When the store’s window is covered with customers’ handwritten "thank you" notes, they realize: the so-called "new modern" is just ordinary people enduring hard times to make sweetness, then sharing that sweetness with others.
