Lin Xiaoman, a down-on-her-luck office worker, is laid off and faces rent overdue. One night, she picks up a crescent pendant that activates the "Crescent System"—her first task: find an old lady's missing grandson, or gain weight non-stop for a month! She turns to Gu Zhao, a returnee architect, who helps her succeed and says, "I’ve been waiting for you." To her shock, the old lady reveals herself as a hidden cultivator: Xiaoman was a disciple of Lingyue Sect in her past life, and the "way home" is to recover her sealed cultivation memories. Gu Zhao? Her Taoist partner who waited a thousand years for her reincarnation! As Xiaoman juggles funny system tasks (like using flight skills to deliver takeout) and reverses her life, she realizes the system holds a bigger secret about her "way home"—and Gu Zhao has his own hidden truth.
