Fireworks designer Lin Zhan guards the third-generation fireworks craft in the old alley, but meets urban planning specialist Lu Chen who plans to demolish the fireworks alley to build a "moonlight-themed block". They have a fierce dispute over the alley's survival, with Lin Zhan refusing to compromise and Lu Chen being tough. Until an accident, Lin Zhan finds Lu Chen is the "moonlight boy" who promised her to "protect this warmth" under fireworks in their childhood. With the childhood bond, they balance protecting the craft and urban development, and the dusty secret love gradually emerges amid fireworks and moonlight.
