Su Xiao, owner of an old bookstore, has been guarding her grandfather's "Longing Mailbox" for three years, writing a letter every day to her missing boyfriend Lin Mo, a documentary director—his last message was left under the starry sky in Tibet. Until one day, a man wrapped in a Tibetan robe pushes the door open and hands over Lin Mo's notebook: inside are unsent starry sky photos, with a note on the back saying, "I never left; I just wanted to bring back the brightest star for you." Now that he's regained his memory, he crossed the snow-capped mountains with three years of longing, just to keep a "never-ending" promise.
