In the final years of the Northern Liang Dynasty, Shen Wanzhi, a healer guarding her mother’s jasmine grove, uses her医术 to help war refugees. She rescues the gravely injured Gu Zhao one night, and affection grows between them amid jasmine fragrance. But when Gu reveals himself as a Chen general, when his army besieges the city, and when the royal family forces her to marry a hostage prince—she refuses to submit to fate. She uses jasmine medicine to cure the enemy’s plague, sends secret messages via jasmine scent to save civilians, and even risks her life to make him放下 his sword. Love in chaos isn’t a debt; it’s a glimmer of light she fights for, with unyielding courage.
