Su Xiaotang, the new top scholar, lets slip during the imperial examination: "My dad taught me to write." This accidentally uncovers his father Su Mo's shocking secret—he’s the Marquis of Zhenguo, who was declared "dead in battle" ten years ago! To escape persecution by powerful officials, Su Mo changed his identity and became a wonton seller in a small town, hoping to live a peaceful life with his wife and son. But his son’s fame as a top scholar disrupts everything: the emperor summons him back to court, old enemies come seeking revenge, and even his son feels distant from this "hero dad." Torn between past grudges and present family love, how will Su Mo choose to protect the simple happiness he cherishes so much?
