In the 1970s, Su Wan, a peasant girl on the Loess Plateau, met with a sudden accident on her wedding night—her groom passed away unexpectedly. Slandered as a "husband-killing widow" by the whole village, she was shunned by neighbors and maltreated by her in-laws. Finally, on the barren loess, she achieved a counterattack and became a respected "female farmer" with her own hands.
