Xu Yiyuan, a new Jinyiwei officer, infiltrates the Northern Escort Division to avenge his father, vowing to climb the power ladder on the edge of a blade. However, he accidentally saves Qin Luyao, a mysterious woman being hunted. Qin Luyao appears to be a fragile songstress but is actually an assassin from the "Dark Star Alliance," tasked with investigating the Jinyiwei’s secret hoarding of military pay—a secret that cost Xu’s father his life. Each with their own agenda, they grow closer through life-and-death trials: he wants to use her to take down his enemy, she wants to use him to uncover the truth. But as genuine feelings emerge amid sword fights, how will they navigate their own "path to power" between ambition and love?
